make installer
hello,,,
I've finish build LFS... How to make the installer, so my LFS can install on another kmptr?? thanks... |
There's no easy, standard way to make an LFS "installer," per se, so if it's just one other computer, you may want to just follow the book again and build the system from scratch as you did with the first computer. Alternatively, you can try the following:
-The LFS backup hint has (somewhat dated) information that might help you. -The Linux Live scripts can help you make your LFS distro into a bootable live CD. -The ALFS project can help you automate an LFS installation, making the process quicker and less error prone (less copy & pasting to do, for example). |
actually my LFS system use 4 GB on my hardisk...if i make live cd how much the size of cd approximately??

The ISO image that you wind up with will obviously have to be small enough to fit on the CD you want to burn it to (~700 MB or less, depending on the CD). The Linux Live scripts use Squashfs to compress the filesystem; it's hard to say in advance how well it will be able to compress your specific LFS system. 4 GB will probably be too big, even compressed, but I'd recommend trying the Linux Live scripts out to see what you get. If the ISO's too big, you can always go back and delete what you don't need and try again. :)
