Chapter 5.7 configure: WARNING: cpuid.h

Hello,

Could you help me to understand this warning message please?
Chapter 5.7.1. Installation of Glibc
It's just a harmless warning?

Code:
configure: WARNING: cpuid.h: present but cannot be compiled
configure: WARNING: cpuid.h: check for missing prerequisite headers?
configure: WARNING: cpuid.h: see the Autoconf documentation
configure: WARNING: cpuid.h: section "Present But Cannot Be Compiled"
configure: WARNING: cpuid.h: proceeding with the preprocessor's result
configure: WARNING: cpuid.h: in the future, the compiler will take precedence

Thanks

Did you look at the referenced section in the Autoconf documentation?

Hi,

Are you only getting warnings or does the process stop with an error?

I've seen this mentioned here on LQ and other places a few times. As long as the process keeps running (warnings only) you can continue.

Have a look here:

- LFS Developers Mailing List
- LFS support

Hope this helps.

druuna, thank you for your intervention.

I just received a warning. I followed your advice, so the LFS party is still on here.
Chapter 6.1...
