Video Issues - SLES9/HP Blades/X
 

We have 3 HP blade enclosures and are running SLES9.The blades are: HP Poweredge 1855. We use an Avocent remote KVM to connect.

I am having strange video issues. This is seemingly random and happens whether we do an install from DVD, CD, or a Ghost image. It appears to be seperate from the settings but I have a sneaky feeling that it is not, in fact, seperate from the settings. The video does one of three things upon install.

1. Works perfectly
2. Doesn't work - If you switch from console to X you see a flash of the login screen and then the screen goes black. If you login blind it will flash once again and the go black.
3. Font problems - The font in KDM is unreadable. It appears to be about 2px. If you correct this the display will act as above in #2.

The strange thing is with the same ghost image, on the same physical device, a reimage cures the problem. If you mess the video settings at all it stops working and acts exactly as in #2. Console works perfectly fine at all times.

This is an enterprise environment and SLES9 is what we have to use right now. We cannot go to 10 in production just yet although I am working on that. I need a solution using SLES9. Thank you all in advance for any help you may be able to provide.
