rhel7.9 + InfoScale 7.4.2 + RecoverPoint - problem starting veritas on boot

Got a real head scratcher going on here and I need some help.

Recently built a HP BL660c gen8 blade with rhel7.9 and InfoScale 7.4.2 Update2. We use emc recoverpoint to replicate data from production to non-prod data centers and then import the RP luns to this system for backups. We have other similar setups in the environment that run without a hitch.

Now this particular system, when the RP luns are not in image access mode during boot time, veritas does not start, I assume because of the IO errors its reporting not having access to the RP luns.

Any veritas command we run say vxconfigd daemon is not started and vxconfigd will not restart. I tried to kill the pid, nothing works to restart it.

Only after we enable image access mode to the RP luns, then we can restart vxconfigd veritas works.

Then after we can disable access and veritas will continue to work until the next reboot.

So far I've only disable probe idle lun and and monitor fabric in vxdmpadm. Are there other settings I need to disable to keep veritas from trying to access these luns at boot time?

It very much sounds like you're a commercial outfit. What did RHEL support suggest? I presume you're paying for it.
