RHCE Exam
 

Hi everybody. I have just joined linux Question Forum.I am planning to writing my RHCE exam in feb so iam hoping if there's anyone around who could please tell me if the questions asked are straight forward or they are more of a case scenario thing.

I will really be grateful if someone does give me a feed back.

there are no questions. there is no writing. it is a tasked based lab.

that's about the level yes. we aren't going to help you cheat though. If i were to provide you the info you want, and redhat saw, I would have my RHCE revoked.

How high is the job prospect after becoming certified?

Do u work as a linux system administrator?

If I were hiring someone to do systems administration, a certificate would be only one of many ways I would use to evaluate candidates. If I found someone that seemed like a good candidate, I might not even care if they had any certificates.

Obviously, many employers require some sort of formal training/certification. But it will always be only one of the criteria.

For anyone here to advise a specific job prospects, we will need to know where you are (or where you are willing/able to move).

I am a Linux/Unix Systems Administrator. When it came time to hire a Jr. Systems Adminitrator; I was looking more for what he knew...not what he had...for me it's...

1) Personality
2) Knowledge
3) Experence
4) Flexability

Certs don't really come into play...

The reason for me getting my RHCE (I'm currently studying for it) is personal. It's been a goal of mine for quite a while...it's a good challenge...it's more for _me_ and not the money...

I got mine cos my old boss let me take a week of training cos I asked.

It's a big generalisation, but often it's the case that people requesting certifications for prospective employees simply have no idea what else to ask for, and so as a boss quite often a waste of space, on the technology front at least.

Don't get us wrong. The RHCE will help; but just keep in mind that it's not the only thing that people are looking for.

Remember the RHCE doesn't guarantee you a job...but it does help...

OK, well you are sounding like a generally intelligent sensible ang logical person. I may be wrong, but you seem so. Go have a look around this site, maybe search for "rhce" and find some questions being asked by people stating at the off that they have RHCE's already. You'll probably be quite shocked / amused at quality of some of these questions. I know first hand how bad some people can be with RHCE's to their name.
