How to take a OS backup in RHEL4
 
Dear All,

I want to take a OS backup of my RHEL4 machine, plrase suggest me the best OS backup tool and how to take a OS backup.

The gparted and partimage tools works for me (many others are also available), they are part of the SystemrescueCD;

DD is again a good tool to take OS backup with GRUB as well. Give a look to below link :

I just use dd and pull an image of the system every week or so.

Bacula, Amanda, BackupPC, tar, rsync, cpio, dump are all tools you can use to make backups, and are free.

There's also commercial solutions like Veritas Netbackup, BackupExec, Tivoli, Commvault and many others.

Pick one that suits your needs best.
