Display Problem
 
Ok guyz....i have Red Hat Linux Enterprise ES 3
i am facing a problem with it..
i cant go into the graphical mode....
it alwayz says Xserver crashed .......
i am guessing it is a problem with my monitor or graphic card..
my graphic card is an onboard SIS 650
Monitor is Samsung Samtron 50E
well...gfx card gets installed properly but for monitor i have to choose from the list a device driver in the name of Samsung Samtron 50(M)E

the course of d prob:
when i start Linux....it starts normally ......i go into GUI mode.
but then suddenly it gets out of GUI sayin X-Server crashed or sumthin..
what is the problem?
can ne1 help me with it..??

When X crashes there will be messages dumpted into the log file which you can fine at /var/log/XFree86.0.log. Please check the file for errors (they are lines that start with EE) or for warnings (they start with WW). The errors nearer the bottom of the log are most relenant... but not necessarily the problem (look up around 20 - 30 lines in the file). Post any errors you find.

Also, grep the output of the command dmesg immediately after the X crash.. and look for mention of X, nvidia, or agp.
dmesg | grep -i nvidia
