Bacula Backup question
Hi there,
I've just been getting Bacula Backup running on an old server (CentOS 6.10) and have finally been able to run the backup job from BConsole. When I tried to run a test from Webmin, it got stuck on the Code:
Ok to run? (yes/mod/no): I thought that running the job from Webmin would have not had such an issue. I tried to google the answer but nothing was found indiciating how I could get over this issue. Was it because it was the first run of a new backup job? Or is there something I need to enter into bacula-dir.conf to automatically say yes to such a question? Thanks in advance, Simon |
For something like that, have you tried https://www.bacula.org/support/ ?
They do have free (email list) as well as Professional Support (I'd guess pay-for). |
Hello mr_si,
Bacula is what I am using to back up 8 machines at home. I have to state clearly, I am not a bacula expert or guru. I've figured how to get it working and am getting my linux machines backed up. I have been working on computers since 1981, and, therefore, I am a command line junkie. Slackware is my distro of choice. I have one outlier, my router which runs ipfire. So, I run bconsole from the command line. I have the Storage Daemon running on one machine that has a 14 terabyte RAID 6 array; the Director runs on another machine; and, File Daemons run on all the Linux machines. Running bconsole from the command line gives direct access to responding to requests from the console utility. I run all my Linux machines at runlevel 3 (multiuser) (Slackware does not implement systemd). In the rare instances where I wish to run any X applications I with execute 'startx' from a command line. Don't know if any of what I said will be helpful for you, but running bconsole from a command line is somewhat clunky but it will enable you to have better control of its operation. Clark |
