Want to try Linux without hdd install or LiveCD?

I have specialized in building virtual appliances of good high quality Linux distros as 'guests' for use under MS Windows or Linux as hosts with the 100% free VMware Player installed. BTW I have NO affiliation with VMware whatsoever apart from being a user and appliance contributor.

So far the following Linux flavors are listed on VMwares Appliance Marketplace http://www.vmware.com/vmtn/appliances/directory/cat/45 :
  • Wolvix Cub 1.1.0 beta
  • Yoper 3.0 beta (Blacksand MK II)
  • Linux Mint 2.2 (beta) Bianca
  • Zenwalk 4.4.1
  • Sidux 2007-1
  • Elive 0.6.5 (unstable)

All these are available for free of course on my own virtual appliance site here:

This an excellent way of trying different distros without having to fiddle with dual-booting or having to burn and run a slow LiveCD.

This is my way of saying thanks to the LQ community for helping me solving problems when I built some of these appliances.
