PCMCIA Orinoco wlan in SuSE 9.0 w/ 2.6 kernel - working?

Hey all,
I'm something of a Linux newbie, and am thoroughly enjoying myself with getting my system up to date and learning about this great operating system. I'm running Suse 9.0 with the 2.4 kernel and am considering taking the leap to 2.6 with the Suse RPMs. However, I'm using a Lucent WAVELAN/Orinoco PCMCIA card for wireless internet, it works fine in 2.4, but I'm wondering if it will take in 2.6? The Suse support page says there are some issues with PCMCIA wlan devices in its 2.6 kernel. I'd rather not find out it doesn't work...

Is there a set of drivers I should get and compile first?

Can I install the new kernel and keep my 2.4 and then just pick which to boot?

Thanks

Here's a little update for anyone interested...I went ahead and intalled the 2.6.5 RPMs provided by SuSE, the update was easy, but my PCMCIA didn't take, neither did my external USB HDD. I'm still anxiously awaiting any responses, as I have a suspicion SuSE is not really going to put much effort into 9.0 RPMs for 2.6 as they really would like people to upgrade to 9.1...I could be wrong however.

I did notice some verbage on the SuSE page about a moved modules loader config file from 2.4 to 2.6? I recreated the modules file using a script they provided and thats when things went really downhill. Is the Orinoco driver loaded as a module? That might seem like a stupid question, but I'm still a newbie. I'm willing to give this another shot if someone can provide some ideas...

Thanks
