Newbie trying to do fresh install. Grub problems.

System specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
GPU: AMD RX 6700 XT
Motherboard: X470 AORUS ULTRA

Heres what Im trying to do:
I have 2 SSD's. One has Windows 7 on it and I want to keep that as it is. The second has linux Mint installed on it. I decided to try Garuda Linux as I think that might be better for gaming than linux mint. I flashed a USB with Garuda Dragonized Gaming Edition using Rufus. I tried to boot using the usb but keep getting "symbol grub_calloc not found, entering recovery mode".

What am I doing wrong? I want to replace the Mint with Garuda but cant even get through grub. Is there a way to bypass this or a work around? Maybe a way to delete the Mint SSD from the Win 7? Any advice appreciated. Im kinda stuck here :/

If the grub config files reside on the Mint partition then scrubbing that may make it so you cannot boot into ANYTHING.

I would create a VENTOY USB key (choosing EFI support), then copy the ISO onto that. See if you can boot from that and into Linux.
If that works, you can install from there INCLUDING the new grub. If not, there may be a problem with that ISO.

Sorry for the late reply. This worked for me! Never knew about Ventoy or that multi-bootloaders were a thing. Thanks for the tip!
