Grub screen missing after Deepin install!

Hi!

I am new to Deepin, though not to Linux!

Installed Deepin 14 on my laptop and found that it boots directly to Deepin completely bypassing the Grub screen. I have Open SuSE and Linux Mint 17 installed in a multiboot environment.

As the Grub screen is not being displayed, I am unable to log in to distros other than Deepin.

Kindly help!

Thanking in advance,

I'm not familiar with Deepin but you apparently installed its bootloader to the master boot record and it did not create entries for or apparently did not detect the other operating system. Which bootloader does it use? Is it Grub, Grub2, Lilo? Check the /boot/grub directory to verify this. Check for a menu.lst or grub.conf file or a grub.cfg file. Can you run the fdisk command to verify that your partitions for Mint and Opensuse are still there. Probably the best way to get information is to google 'bootinfoscript', go to its site read the instructions in the link in the Description box, download it and run it and post the output, a results.txt file.

I just googled their site and apparently it is derived from Ubuntu so it should have Grub2. You could try running: sudo update-grub in a terminal and watch the output to see if the other OSs are detected.

Thanks yancek!

sudo update-grub did it. Grub works now!

Hello. Please enter Deepin to execute this command: "sudo update-grub". Then enter the boot module in the Control Center and set the system you want to start first.
