CD Writing without ide-scsi emulation in 2.6 kernel

anybody knows how to burn cd w/o ide-scsi emulation since 2.6 kernel supports direct writing to ide-cd?

cdrecord can do it (though not cddao)

i use the k3b frontend to do my burning and it works great

In a terminal, do the following
$ dmesg | grep CD

Then update your /etc/fstab entries to match the new locations of your devices.

You may also need to pass

/dev/hdX=ide-cdrom

to the kernel in your grub or lilo.conf file in the manner you used to do for scsi-emulation, putting the correct drive letter for the cdrom in place of X.

cdrecord...not working....i've tried this (as a root)

$ cdrecord -scanbus
Cdrecord-Clone 2.01a19 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2003 Jörg Schilling
cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open '/dev/pg*'. Cannot open SCSI driver.
cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you are root.
cdrecord: For possible transport specifiers try 'cdrecord dev=help'.

i can't remember the specific commands necessary, but you don't need to do scanbus with cd-record; just specify your cd device and the file needing to be burned and it will do it

download k3b from http://k3b.sourceforge.net/ and use that to do your burning; it works really nicely and will setup everything for you (you must have kde installed to use it)

cdrecord dev=/dev/hdx <iso_files>

Ok it's working with cdrecord, but is there any graphical program to burn CD on Gnome with Kernel 2.6.2 and without scsi-emulation ?
