Hello,

The footprints of google are everywhere. If you use the search engine of Google, it will store and work on your search for later.
it can take few days to weeks.

It can result in change on your hosting,... site... well.

Google search, logs, and search for site tracking *including site check, copyrights,... and removing sites.

Well, prefer duck duck...

Does google get back to you with those results after that period? I thought their search engine was efficient enough to spit out the info straight away?

How would they know you have a website with hosting?

They could, can, *(should?) actively help to remove website, if ...found by the search engine.

Web hosting is anyhow in the end of the provider. It depends.

I don't use Google as a search engine. Haven't for years. I try to avoid the whole G thing as far as possible but as you say - it gets everywhere and some things don't function properly on this PC possibly because of things I have removed/blocked/revoked permissions. I know there are a lot of organisations out there doing things I don't like and it's impossible to 'take on' all of them so I've gone down the route of picking out ones to particularly avoid... It makes life so much easier. However, I do accept that it means some things will be a bit broken and some decisions will appear random and illogical...

However, I do like it when other people express the same discontentment - it makes me feel less eccentric and unreasonable! :) So thank you!

Take solace my eccentric compatriot, they are a few inclined this way on LQ. Although I note one particular individual here on LQ who recommends Google, as evident in his signature, one of those naive 'Google is your friend' types (scoff), and you never get a straight answers to your questions from him either.

So it's not just me, then :)

You do understand that you've taken the first steps to being a Grumpy Old Person...

@linux-man - I've taken that solace! I feel heaps better. There's at least four of us! Four today - tomorrow the world!

I'm a Wallace and Gromit fan, and I once wrote a short electronics text for a niche (non-canine) target audience.
