FC4 Install Hangs On "[<c0103c4a>] common_interrupt+0x1a/0x20"
New to Linux, Installed Red Hat a few years back on a KDS laptop without any install issues.
Trying to install now on a old Pentium II 233MHZ computer with 64MB of PC66 RAM. Figured it would work but having problems right out of the gate. I downloaded the ISO's from RedHat's site. Did a checksum on the files and everything ok. Burned them each to CD..... Enterred to do Graphical Install It scrolls text and then sits on "running /sbin/loader" It proceeds and then looks like it's trying to initialize Anaconda and it scrolls and stops here and never goes on. ============================= [<c0105a88>] do_IRQ=0x58/0x90 [<c0103c4a>] common_interrupt+0x1a/0x20 Thing I have tried: --Burned Disc 1 again. --Ran a memory check, memory ok --Tried to run media check, but it doesn't get far enough along to do the media check, it hangs at the same place when i choose to do media check --Ran text setup, hangs at same place... Any ideas? |
ok, tried a few other things and finally found the problem....
swapped out the CD-ROM drive with another one and it gets past that and to the "Test Media" part.... Woohoo!....... Kinda weird that the old CD-ROM drive booted the CD and brought up the initial install screen but hung shortly afterwards.... I would have thought if the CD-ROM wasn't going to work that it wouldn't work at all... Oh well.. Gonna be a long night.... |
