Fedora 9 post-installation customization procedure?
I installed Fedora 9 using the default suggestions. One of these suggestions was to perform a minimal install and to leave more comprehensive customizing until after Fedora 9 was installed.
I now have the minimal Fedora 9 installed. What do I need to do (or run) now to allow the customization step? I suspect that there is a simple command, I just don't know what it is. Regards, Alex |
Well, assuming you installed the GUI, just go into Add/Remove Software menu and select the stuff you want. By default, it'll use the internet, but there are threads on LQ if you need it to go to the CD/DVD (ie no internet on that box).
If you only have a CLI env, login as root and use yum. |

The machine in question does not have internet access, so I do need to go to the DVD. Where are the threads that tell me how to do that? Thanks, Alex |
Use the search option in the LQ menus.
