reinstall/upgrade Debian over existing LVM on LUKS partition
Is there any documentation for reinstall/upgrade Debian over existing LVM on LUKS partition instead of recreate the whole disk (only format / volume, and keep /home volume).
I tried more than 2 ways from AskUbuntu forum, I did everything as explained, and keep getting: ALERT! /dev/mapper/debian-root does not exist. Dropping to a shell! BusyBox v1.22.1 ......blah.........blah.......blah....... (initramfs) _ So; just curious about an alternative way If you don't have time to backup you /home (user data), and packages cofig files, and do it again from Scratch. BTW, some rarely situations like this need more discussions. Here is screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/ZppT2 Thanks |
Are you just trying to upgrade from Debian 8 to 9?
