Internet Speed is very slow on Debian 12.

Hello linux community,
I've just installed Debian 12. I switched from Linux Mint. I'm facing slow internet speed issue on it. It was fine on Mint. Here is the output of sudo lsusb:
Code:

(base) saleemshady@saleemshady:~/Downloads/mysite$ sudo lsusb
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 010: ID 148f:5370 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT5370 Wireless Adapter
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 04b4:2001 Cypress Semiconductor Corp.
Bus 001 Device 009: ID 0e8d:2004 MediaTek Inc. Infinix NOTE 10 Pro
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 09da:7014 A4Tech Co., Ltd. USB Device
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

My Mobile Device via USB TETHERING: Bus 001 Device 009: ID 0e8d:2004 MediaTek Inc. Infinix NOTE 10 Pro
My USB Wireless Chip: Bus 001 Device 010: ID 148f:5370 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT5370 Wireless Adapter

On both of these speed is very slow.

What is slow? When you try one of the speed test sites, what is the result?

Your OS shouldn't really affect internet speed. Do you perhaps have a shared internet connection, and someone else or another device on your shared connection was performing a download or watching streaming video?

The speed is around 20 kbps which should be around 500-600kbps.

So you're getting your internet connection thru a phone/tablet connected thru USB? Presumably if you speedtest from that device itself it gets the 500+ kbps you expect?

Are you perhaps using a USB 1.1 port? Probably not. I'm not familiar enough with lsusb output to be any help, but if I were you I'd try another USB port, find on a different bus than you're using now.

No, my internet was fine but not getting the decent speed. Then i followed this thread and volla...the issue is fixed now. Don't know what happened in the backgroud but getting decent speed now.

I followed the below thread and the issue is resolved now:

Yes but the same port when on Linux Mint, PopOS e.t.c was giving 400-500kbps. So i think so its the issue of some driver related stuff. However, i followerd this thread below and now the speed is totally fine like it was before: https://unix.stackexchange.com/quest...-connection-on

I can only guess...

The ralink adapter requires firmware that you probably accidentally installed from following the thread you posted. It is an 802.11n device which has a max speed of 150MBs. I would not expect the firmware to affect the speed when connected to your phone.
