So just need a source like:
Code:
deb http://ftp.jp.debian.org/debian/ buster-backports main
And then install with
Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install telegram-desktop/buster-backports
Cheers,

Hmm... I thought I did give you all the steps. Perhaps I wasn't explicit enough with the first step. So here are all the steps.
Code:
sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://ftp.es.debian.org/debian/ buster-backports main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/buster-backports.list'
sudo apt update
sudo apt install telegram-desktop/buster-backports
Note however that you've already been given a bunch of links explaining how to add new apt sources. I highly recommend that you read them.

I have installed telegram v.2.

Does someone know if we can install v.5? That is the version that includes the functions that I need.

A new upstream version is available: 2.5.1high
I think it's over your ability to install it this way or with Alien, you'll just have to wait or find a distro with that version...

As i mentioned above in #4, there's a Ubuntu PPA that provides 2.5.1 and a page in Debian Wiki that describes how to convert it to Debian.

You could also use the binary they provide at https://desktop.telegram.org/

You can install the snap.

https://snapcraft.io/telegram-desktop

Snap has version 2.5.8.
Follow the steps here:

When this is Debian 10 and you want the grapical UI on an X-Server you can also just install it as a user inside your homedir.

The "installer" they provide on their website works for me on Debian 10. This way you also have all of it in one directory and only running as the user you want it for and when you want it on inside of one session.

Seriously just follow my previous post and install the snap.
It installs 2.5.8 and works just fine.
