Read this. The Componentized Linux thing is based on Debian Sarge. I haven't tried it, but it was created by the same guy who started Debian itself. Progeny did put out some earlier anaconda installation cds with official Debian, but at that time, they were very alpha, and didn't work for me. Linuxmafia has a good page that lists all of the Debian installation methods that I ever heard of. MEPIS, Libranet, or the old Progeny Graphical Installer would probably be a better choice since the Anaconda installer isn't completely finished yet. |
I just love MEPIS,great for a noob,just don't apt-get upgrade or apt-get dist-upgrade,just upgrade whatever you want to,david

Re: Re: install debian using anaconda
I just installed the Progeny 2.0 CL Debian based on sarge on my pc two days ago.
The installation went pretty smooth, and so far I've only had to tweak a few things (X - but every disto messes up X on my box, networking, and I'm still working on sound). The basics are all there: OOo, Firefox, etc. It is Gnome 2.4 only though, you'll have to add other stuff yourself. I haven't really had time to get much farther with it, but at least it is a fairly up to date starting point. (I'm switching from Slack 9.0 to see how it goes) I'm pretty new to Debian, so we'll see how it goes. |
thank you very much cap'n leaky.
I am using now more than one distro ( Knoppix, fedora, redhat ,mandrake, debian ) the problem is not here. I want , if some one can help me, to create a bootable disk using anaconda. know I install knoppix then complete with the debian CD thanks a lot bela |
