Problems installing DSL on HD

I am trying to install DSL on the HS of pentium 2 machine but I get an error message after grub.

I can run it from Ram or from the cd but can not get it to install on one of the partitions.

I will post the error message that I have been getting later on this evening, in the meantime is there any thing that I am missing.

I found similar troubles, it would load GRUB, and put me to the command prompt, and when I (after many hours of searching, trial and error) gave it the correct commands it would boot DSL properly, although it at this time won't pick up the config automatically. I have had to un-power the PC at the moment to make way for fishies (in particular the pump), but getting an extension cord tonight to sort it out.

In any case, is you partitioning setup correct? How have you created it?

Is the partition you are installing to a boot partition...is this the only os on the drive. from the live cd desktop menu you choose install to hd and follow the prompts..install to hda1 ext2 grub etc..should work..if you have windows also you may need to reconfigure grub..I did straight linux boxs so not sure about dual booting yet..good luck
