Trying to install RTL8812AU drivers for linux.

Can someone please help me, I'm very new to Linux and trying to install my wifi adapter.
Have tried all sorts of websites and it's not working so I think it's best if I start again and ask for help.
I connect my wifi adapter (Alfa AWUS036ACH) my Chromebook recognises it and I allow connection to Linux.
I type lsusb and get the following:
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0bda:8812 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8812AU 802.11a/b/g/n/ac 2T2R DB WLAN Adapter
I type iwconfig and get the following:
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
What should I do next please?
Thank you

What model chromebook do you have.

What operating system? Did you install the operating system ?

If really linux. See if this command works in your chromebook.

Code:

inxi -Fxz -r
The readout will answer a lot of my questions. Good Luck.:)
