Bodhi Linux 5.1-32bit- How to set town for Forecast 2.0?
 

Just installed the Forecast 2.0 in my Bodhi, which is working with the wttr API, but now I cannot find any information on how to set up the wanted town?
Adding the town's name to the settings of Forecast 2.0 has no effect.

The only way to change the location is in the terminal, when I enter
curl wttr.in/
followed without space by the wanted town, but this doesn't affect Forecast 2.0 either.

But how can I do it in Forecast 2.0, please?

Hello

No entry in textbox means the place will be automatic considering the IP address. If you do not agree with the location, put the city or place name there. It is working here OK. Try to use + in case of multiple town name.

Doesn't seem to work like that, sorry. I entered the wanted town, but it still displays the other town, the one according to the IP address.

Tell me the town name if you do not consider it too private info. I need to look personaly when I get home

Unfortunately, I do consider this private information. The town is one word only.

Zipcodes do not work for the moksha module and city names aren't very specific and the weather stations it has are named after tiny places nobody has heard of (at least in my area), so to determine how to set it you have to trial and error various cities around you if your own city doesn't work and see what it gives you back and look it up on a map and see close to you then check another website to see if the weather is similar to you there....

I live in the 10th biggest city in America (San José, California) and can't get it to work exactly right here either. I use a VPN so my ip is somewhere else so can't use automatic. The place it picks when i put San Jose is somewhere called Coyote, Caifornia (which I'd never heard of but when I look it up it is just a little bit south but weather is different there cuz farther from bay). I found by trying various cities around me that if I pick "Cupertino, California" it gives me somewhere called "Austin, California" that is closer weather to me, but still not quite right cuz thats closer to the mountains, but still better than Coyote - also another place I'd never heard of and had to look up on a map.

Point is I think its the weather provider. I live fairly close to San Jose Reid-Hillview Airport, so in other websites/apps I often use that as my weather station, and when not available my zipcode 95121 usually finds somewhere nearby. Even SJC (San Jose International Airport) or San Jose downtown would be better than "Austin" and much better than "Coyote", so I agree it is not the most easy way to pick location and dont understand why it only has obscure places (at least near me)...

I do get some location more or less near by, but actually I'd prefer to have to proper town, if possible.

If I try the wttr command in the terminal, the town is in fact displayed properly. If it is working there, shouldn't it be the same in Forecast 2.0, too?
