Bodhi Linux 5.1.0 Released
Some of you may be aware but I have been rather ill of late. No coronavirus tho but It has significantly delayed me getting the 5.1.0 official release out.
Sick or not I struggled to get it together and I am announcing it now. Enjoy :D |

Thank you, and get well soon!
Bodhi 5.1 is probably, of all the distro's that I know, the distro with the smartest targeted iso's. It's mean, lean and overall impressive. Great job! :) Edit: there's currently no link to the HWE iso on the download page: http://www.bodhilinux.com/download/ |
Live mode
LibreOffice only works in live mode in the Legacy iso
|
Libre Office is not a part of legacy ISO. It is one of the three bare ISOs
Only apppack version includes a set of recommended applications. Check this site for better understanding: http://www.bodhilinux.com/w/selectin...ect-iso-image/ Stefan |
One request: currently, mintupdate is still only in the Testing repo. As mintupdate is now officially part of the AppPack Release, can it perhaps be transferred to the normal stable Bodhi repo?
That would make it easier to install mintupdate in the "lean" Standard, HWE and Legacy: no need to enable the Testing repo then. |

Finally watched the video, that's pretty impressive. |

How come, distrowatch.com is telling me that 'Bodhi 5.1.0' has just been released,
whereas the 'About' of 'Bodhi', said already weeks ago, it is '5.1.0'? How can it be new, then? Let me add, I installed 'Bodhi' when '5.0' was released and did all updates since that day, up to now. EDIT: Where can I get all those wallpapers as shown in the video of post #7?. I don't have the entry 'Desktop Icons' in the 'Files' tab of the settings panel. How can I get that entry, please? |
Hello there
1. Release cycle before official release has got some rules We firstly released alpha version and announced on the forum. Then RC (release candidate) was released. Both for users testing before offic version. 25.3.2020 Ylee announced the official release which Distrowatch also announced 2. sudo apt install bodhi-background-pack 3. Desktop icons is a module you need to turn on under module setting https://i.imgur.com/33DsaoH.jpg Stefan |
Many thanks
Many thanks for all your hard work, Ylee and Stefan. I have just downloaded the iso and look forward to installing it.
Best wishes, Roger |

1. I never installed an RC version. I simply did the all the updates after installing 5.0. That's what got me to 5.1.0. 2. That pack doesn't exist. It is not offered by Synaptic nor can it be installed via terminology. 3. I already looked that one up. No chance. That entry is not there. In fact, only 'Places' does exist there. |
1. We added all stuff to our repository. It means if you apt-get dist-upgrade, your system was completely upgraded
2. Oh, you are right. I probably installed that package offered by Ylee for video purpose. I will upload it to the repo soon. Sorry 3. Hmm, I have it there. It is a part of moksha core. Unsure in your case Stefam |
