Bodhi 3.2 upgrade failing
I am seeing an error that I am failing to be able to find any help with. After
sudo apt-get update I attempt sudo apt-get upgrade I get a list of packages that are available to upgrade. I get the prompt for Y/n. I hit enter and then every package that should upgrade fails with HttpError401. One example E: Failed to fetch https://esm.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/m...+esm1_i386.deb HttpError401 This is my mother's system, so, it isn't like someone was poking around and broke something. Typing that error and ubuntu/bodhi/upgrade gives me no useful hits. I had used bodhi since 1.3 or 1.4. I jumped ship to Arch. I have moksha installed as one of my DEs. One suggestion I saw that I tried was sudo apt-get clean sudo apt-get autoclean/autoremove don't do anything and reply with W: No priority (or zero) specified for pin |
401 is authentication error. You need user/pass to use that site.

since bodhi 4 was based on ubuntu 16.04, wouldn't that mean that 3 is based on 14 which is beyond its end of life?

The Bodhi site at the link below confirms support only until April, 2019 for version 3.2. Many of the Ubuntu derivatives have only 3 years support.

Did you try this? Info below.
Quote:
[Update repository list] $ sudo apt-get update [Upgrade Operating System] $ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade |
Thanks all for the replies. I did in fact do an apt-get update/apt-get (dist-)upgrade. With the same results. It would seem from the other posters comments 3.2 reached eol. May be time to jump mom over to Arch as well. Rolling release, update until 32 bit is unsupported or the system croaks.
Thanks again for all of your assistance. It is very much appreciated. |
I would just install Bodhi 4 and see how you like it. Based on 16.04 long term support. I believe that is supported till 2021. If you like it then Bodhi 5 is the latest, but Bodhi 4 is a good transition and very easy to install and use.
