Vista Iced 'til 2010, Microsoft says.

OK. So that's not going to happen, right? I think it should. Those who (are forced to) pay to use Mockerysofts products should have a vote in what should happen next instead of letting the marketoids reign.

    i wonder because that would drag Windows XP beyond the
    term of support.

    people are eager for them to release one ASAP to protect them from the
    XP lack of security.

    Well, that's why this variation on letting them eat their own dogfood should work, because it would hurt real bad. And apparently they only react when it really hurts. I read a dissection of the Microsoft bugfixing proces (can't remember where) a short while ago and it seems they've got an overhead of *at least* 10 to 1. I'm sure there's overhead that can be "re-educated" to work on XP's "hidden features" :-]
