Uninstall / Removal with Deps of unwanted programs

Installed Arya Mate on a VM
[honestly i am not a fan of gnome3 or gnome3 related DE]
i installed xfce thru alps [also running jwm from source]
now i wish to do away with MATE....as these two desktops just work sweet with least load on sys resource

i cant find "alps uninstall mate-desktop-environment [with its related unwanted deps]" or equivalent...

Did you mean gtk3? Because Mate has nothing to do with Gnome. Mate was ported to GTK3 since I think the version 1.14.

Anyways as for removal of Mate, its not as straightforward as installation because applications/packages get installed via building the source code in Arya. In the whole process of configure.. make.. make install, files that are copied to the filesystem are not tracked as of now and hence removing them is not simple. One way in which removal can be done is by doing a configure make make uninstall but that would again need the source code for all the component packages that Mate comprises of.

We are working on a binary package management system for AryaLinux but as of now its not mature enough for release. Eventually we plan on building the uninstall option into alps itself so that alps uninstall mate-desktop-environment would do the job.

exactly... if a binary working alps is available it will be nice to checkout, use or remove un-wanted packages !
i am a "zero" on coding and IT related stuff but out of inquisitiveness, i wish to say... if binary package management is done, may be upgrades as and when available can become easy ? that includes even kernel versions too ?!
