4MLinux 36.1 released.
 

This is a minor (point) release in the 4MLinux STABLE channel, which comes with the Linux kernel 5.4.115. The 4MLinux Server now includes Apache 2.4.47, MariaDB 10.5.8, and PHP 7.4.18.
You can update your 4MLinux by executing the "zk update" command in your terminal (fully automatic process).

I have found that the USB partition is hidden and therefore cannot boot.

I tried editing the partition in Image Writer after writing it to no avail...

1) The most popular Linux-based way to write ISO images is, for example, as follows:
You must replace output.iso with the real name of your ISO image. Additionally, you need to replace /dev/sdb with the real name of your USB drive (though, as far as I can see, it's /dev/sdb on your screenshots).
Warning:
You will loose all data on your USB stick.

2) Alternatively, you can use UNetbootin, but your USB stick must be either FAT32 or EXT4 formatted.

Yes, I tried dd also and had the same problem of a hidden partition.

I just tried Multibootusb and installed four distros -- but at startup multibootusb only offers 3 -- 4mLinux is missing from the boot menu but when viewed in thunar on my installed LinuxMint I can see its folders. The only folder that shows up hidden is the /4MLinux-37.0-64bit/.disk/ folder.

Any clues please?

Holy buzzfart! I did it!

Guessing that /multibootusb/4MLinux-37.0-64bit/boot/grub/grub.cfg is the configfile, I manually added the entry in the /multibootusb/grub/grub.cfg file and it worked! It is odd though that any way of writing the image to the USB hides it yet it boots fine on a VM in VirtualBox when set to boot from an ISO. Weird.

Thanks for the work on the distro and if you want me to do anything to find out more data for you, give idiot-proof instructions. :-)

4MLinux 36 is now OLD STABLE.
 

The status of the 4MLinux 36 series has been changed to OLD STABLE. All users must update before November 2021 (EOL).
