NEWS ABOUT PuppEX Bookworm64 Build 220714 – TWO versions
My two new Puppy Linux derivatives are built using the Bookworm Build Script. They are compatible with Debian Bookworm – upcoming Debian 12. One version of 1070 MB (the ISO file) is for UEFI computers. The other one of 903 MB (the ISO file) is for non-UEFI computers and VirtualBox/VMware. I have noted today how good AndEX Nougat 7.0 is running in VMware (Workstation-12.5.1-4542065). You can of course run the system (or install it) directly from the ISO file android_x86_64-nougat-7.0-gapps-exton-build-870mb-161107.iso.
I knew already from before that AndEX runs very well in VirtualBox.

I have replaced kernel 4.1.1-x86_64-exton with kernel 4.3.1-x86_64-exton with support for “everything”. KDE is downgraded to version 4.10.5 from version 4.11.1. All other component software is also upgraded to the latest Slackware version by now. I may mention in particular GParted 0.24.0...
Why replace version 140326 with version 140411?
To my horror I discovered that some programs (including K3b and MPlayer) could not be started due to various unfulfilled program dependencies. The problems are now fixed in version 140411. Additionally could version 4.8.6 of Gimp not open jpg files. To deal with the problem, I had to install version 4.8.10 (latest stable version) of Gimp from source.
